- Growing up in the Methodist church, I heard the call to ordained ministry at a very young age. But, this past year certain leaders in the denomination suddenly withdrew their support after supporting me my entire life until that point, causing me to rethink everything. At about the same time, a local ELCA congregation hired me as their youth minister, and even though I've only been at it for a few months, I've been given opportunities to grow in ways that the Methodist church never gave. Long story short, I'm sure I'm called to ministry, but I have no idea in what way or what church. I just know that for now, youth ministry in the ELCA is it, and I'm not too worried about the next chapter.
