What is vocation?

vo - ca - tion (noun):

1. a particular occupation, business, or profession; calling.

2. a strong impulse or inclination to follow a particular activity or career.

3. a divine call to God's service or to the Christian life.

4. a function or station in life to which one is called by God: the religious vocation; the vocation of marriage.

Lutherans believe that we are all living out our callings, or our "vocations," in the ways we help our neighbors and share the love of Christ with them. You've lived your vocation every day since you were born! Each of us live out our vocations through four main areas of our lives: 1) work/school, 2) family/friends, 3) community/world, 4) and faith/fellowship!
